CSI PRO 2 Hands-On Training Conducted at CREPEC with IGP Officers

ForenScope’s one of the most intriguing instrument in forensic imaging, the CSI PRO 2, is now in the hands of the Instituto-Geral de Perícias (IGP), in Brazil. On June 26, 2025, the IGP organized a practical training session at the Regional Center of Excellence in Criminal Expertise of the South (CREPEC) to introduce the device to representatives from all regional forensic coordination offices.

The session was led by fingerprint experts from IGP’s Latent Prints Division, with support from ForenScope representatives. Participants received hands-on training on how to operate the CSI PRO 2 in real-world crime scene scenarios.

The IGP recently acquired 50 units of the CSI PRO 2, 40 of which were distributed to regional coordinators during the event. The remaining devices will be retained in the capital for training and contingency purposes. The acquisition represents a strategic investment in modernizing Brazil’s forensic capabilities and standardizing high-resolution evidence collection across all regions.

The CSI PRO 2 stands out as a lightweight, compact forensic handheld terminal designed to function as a first-response kit at the crime scene, adapted to each investigator’s needs and enabling end-to-end forensic examination directly on-site. The device produces real-scale images and allows rapid field deployment without requiring additional processing materials.

This training marks an important step in IGP’s nationwide implementation of advanced forensic technology. With this initiative, trained personnel will now serve as regional trainers, cascading their knowledge to colleagues across the country and maximizing the utility of the CSI PRO 2 fleet.

With each new partnership, ForenScope continues to expand its global presence, empowering forensic experts and police departments worldwide with advanced, field-ready imaging solutions.
