Ceará, Brazil — The Forensic Expertise of Ceará (PEFOCE) has officially modernized its crime scene operations with ForenScope 8K and CSI Pro 2 devices, significantly improving the efficiency and accuracy of fingerprint identification across the state.
According to Lêda Queiroz, a criminal expert with over a decade of service at PEFOCE’s Heritage and Life Forensic Center, the implementation of ForenScope technology has transformed daily workflows. “Previously, a complete fingerprint survey took about 80 minutes. Now, in an average of 20 minutes, we get the result,” she explained. This investment—nearly R$ 2.9 million by the Government of Ceará—has streamlined forensic processes and enhanced evidence quality. Traditional methods using cameras, scales, and manual powder techniques have been replaced with state-of-the-art, contactless imaging systems, reducing risk of evidence damage and freeing expert teams for more cases.
ForenScope’s CSI Pro 2 is now available in all PEFOCE centers throughout Ceará, expanding the reach of advanced imaging technology to regional laboratories and field units. “When you minimize the time to process a scene, that team becomes available for new cases. The gain is in time and in the quality of the evidence,” Queiroz added. With this modernization, Brazil’s forensic experts are completing scene examinations four times faster, reinforcing the country’s commitment to science-driven justice. ForenScope continues to support law-enforcement agencies worldwide with innovative forensic imaging systems that enable faster, safer, and more reliable evidence acquisition.
