Last night, Dr. G and his CSI students successfully processed their first night crime scene exercise. During the operation, CSI teams analyzed three different scenes, applying forensic methodologies under realistic field conditions.
Throughout the exercise, the teams utilized the SuperSpectral system developed by ForenScope. Using this advanced technology, CSI teams were able to detect blood traces even after the wall and pillow had been washed, demonstrating the system’s effectiveness on altered and challenging surfaces.
Additional tools used during the investigation included the STK sperm detector and Bluestar Forensic, allowing the teams to evaluate multiple types of biological evidence within the same scenario. This night-time exercise provided students with a comprehensive and practical introduction to modern crime scene processing.
