Forensic professionals from across Colombia gathered at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bogotá to explore ForenScope imaging technologies and their applications in forensic identification, document examination, and forensic medicine.
Organised by IFOR Technologies, the event brought together international experts from Brazil and Türkiye, alongside professionals from Colombia’s National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, National Police, Attorney General’s Office, and other forensic institutions. The event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences while discussing the role of advanced imaging technologies in forensic evidence examination.
Supporting Evidence Integrity Through Non-Contact Imaging
One of the main topics of the event was the use of imaging technologies that enable evidence to be examined without direct physical contact. This approach helps reduce the risk of alteration or contamination during evidence handling.
Forensic expert Yefrin Garavito highlighted the ability to visualise fingerprints, blood and other bodily fluids, as well as injuries and bruises, without physical contact. Garavito also emphasised the importance of accurately interpreting forensic findings alongside the capabilities offered by these technologies.

Practical Insights from International Experts
During the event, international experts also shared their experiences of using these technologies in real-world forensic cases.
An expert from Brazil noted that ForenScope solutions offer a new approach to crime scene documentation and analysis, highlighting their contribution to preserving evidence integrity throughout the examination and documentation process.
At ForenScope, we value opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences with forensic professionals and remain committed to supporting examination practices that prioritise evidence integrity. We would like to thank IFOR Technologies and all participants for contributing to this valuable gathering in Bogotá.
